Portal Terms

Last updated: July 2026. These are the short terms for people completing a request through a Collect link. If you’re a business subscribing to Collect, the Terms of Service govern instead.

1. Who's who

The business that sent you this request (your accountant, lawyer, employer, or other professional — the “Firm”) chose what to ask you for and is responsible for the request. The portal itself is operated by Samford Labs, LLC (“we,” “us”) as a service provider to the Firm. By continuing past the first page of a request, you agree to these terms.

2. Electronic records & signatures

You agree to transact electronically: the information, documents, and signatures you provide here are electronic records, and a signature you draw or type in the portal has the same legal effect as a handwritten one. If you’d rather not proceed electronically, contact the Firm directly for another way to provide what they need.

3. What you submit

Submit only information that is truthful and that you have the right to share. Don’t upload anything unlawful or malicious. What you submit goes to the Firm; questions about why it’s needed, and requests to access or delete it, go to the Firm too — they control your data, and we assist them as their service provider. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. The portal, as-is

The portal is provided free to you, on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. Our total liability to you for anything arising out of the portal is capped at one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here changes any responsibility the Firm has to you.

5. Disputes with us

Any dispute between you and us arising out of the portal will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in Dawson County, Georgia — not by a class action or jury trial, each of which you and we waive. Either of us may instead use small-claims court. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing james@samfordlabs.com within 30 days of first using the portal. These terms are governed by Georgia law. Disputes with the Firm are between you and the Firm.

6. Contact

Questions about these terms: james@samfordlabs.com. Questions about your request or your data: contact the Firm that sent it.
